Upgrading Route 444 — Elad-Bareket
Expanding Route 444 in the section between Bareket Interchange and Elad Interchange and transforming it into a 3.3 km long two-lane two-directional route, which fits the traffic volume in the area.
This expansion will alleviate current traffic congestions on the route, and facilitate better traffic flow for commuters.
As part of the project, the Route 444 bridge over Route 6 will double in capacity, an intersection connecting Route 444 with Route 461 (Givat Ko’ach Interchange) will be created, and an acoustic wall will be built in front of the town of Elad.
For the duration of the road expansion, Route 444 will remain active and the company will carry out roadworks by diverting traffic between lanes.
Paving works on the new western route including the new bridge over Route 6, have been completed. Traffic was diverted from the current route to the new one, and work will soon commence for upgrading the existing route.
Under construction. The complete new road will open in about a year.
